Manufacturing technologies for lightweight structures
made from fibre composite materials
Depending on the component's function and the customer's wishes, we use vacuum-infusion techniques (VARI, VAP) or low-temperature and autoclave prepreg techniques in the production of prototypes and sample components. Low-temperature and autoclave prepreg processes are also suitable for small batches.
We use carbon-fibre SMC (AMC) technology, prepreg presses and the Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) process both for small batches and in series production.
The Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) process is our specialty for series production of complex structures and Class A surfaces in automotive manufacture. Our company has specialized in this technology in recent years. We set standards in this field with regard to production efficiency and component quality and apply our RTM process to manufacture Class A surfaces. This technology allows highly economical manufacture of complex fibre composite structures, even for small production runs.

Joining technology and, in particular, adhesives technology are an important part of the overall manufacturing process for fibre composite materials using RTM. ACE also develops and supplies bonding devices using state-of-the-art technology to deliver precise geometric reproducibility.
